We have established a strong base for our Neapolitan pizza franchise, beginning in 2015 with our flagship restaurant in Los Angeles. Hundreds of entrepreneurs loved our unique concept and signed on as franchisees.
Now, we are poised to grow swiftly and introduce MidiCi The Neapolitan Pizza Company to pizza-lovers from coast to coast, beginning with three openings in December and January — in Kissimmee, FL; Columbia, MO; and Holland, MI — and adding 25 more by the end of 2017. Our newest franchises are already getting rave reviews, and we couldn’t have chosen a better time to enter the pizza segment.
The state of the pizza nation
PMQ Pizza Magazine published some powerful evidence recently of the growing pizza market, not just in the U.S. but worldwide. Statistics gathered by food industry researchers CHD Expert and Technomic show that globally, pizza will hit $128 billion in 2017 and is still growing. At home, the pizza industry will generate an estimated $44.4 billion a year, and again shows signs of continued growth. Consumer demand is predicted to be higher than ever, with consumer demand for pizza projected to rise 26% over 2015.
The PMQ Pizza report looked at several categories of pizzerias, including quick-service restaurants (QSR), full-service restaurants (FSR), limited-service restaurants (LSR) and fast-casual. What’s interesting about that is where MidiCi The Neapolitan Pizza Company fits into those categories: We don’t.
Our wood-fired pizza franchise is so unique that we had to create a new category to accurately describe who we are: fast-fine.
Here’s how we differ
We built our pizza concept based on the idea that, “People are the best thing that can happen to anyone.” We wanted to bring friends together, so we created a space that would invite them to relax over a delicious meal that’s quick and affordable like fast-casual, but is devoted to quality and tradition.
All of our ingredients are non-GMO. Our pizza is made the same way Neapolitans have been making it for centuries. The quality of the ingredients shines through using these traditional Italian recipes, and that was important as a core pillar of our brand. MidiCi The Neapolitan Pizza Company had to serve a pizza that was worthy of sharing with friends and family, and we had to deliver an experience that would compel our guests to return and to spread the word to others.
We consulted a well-known architect to create a vibe for our restaurants that is modern and elegant, relaxing and upbeat at the same time. Experts in the tradition of creating Neapolitan pizza crafted our menu of authentic Italian appetizers, salads and desserts. We curated the wine list with help from an Italian wine specialist.
Our guests come to MidiCi The Neapolitan Pizza Company to enjoy time with friends and loved ones over delicious food and drink. They can sit under the live olive tree growing in the restaurant and watch their pizzas being baked to perfection in our imported Italian wood-burning ovens, enjoying a local craft beer while they wait. Afterward, they can enjoy Italian roast coffee and perhaps a dessert of warm Nutella drizzled over fresh berries.
